→ The listening pavilion
Inspired by the acoustic figures of Ernst Chladni (1787) and the Cymatics theory developed
in 1967, both of which look at how sound is a vibration capable of deforming matter.
I designed an experimental listening space whose form could be defined by sound and its modulations. I set about this task using parametric modelling with the graphic programming tool Grasshopper and 3D printing.
these photographs on the maquette’s fragments reveal patterns that may remind shapes found in na- ture as corals, cells, or even just vibrating water.
